ZOMBIE POST

We’re back from the dead!
Well, not really. I was never really dead, although at some points it really felt like it.
BUT ENOUGH OF THAT! THAT WAS THE PAST! THIS IS THE FUTURE!
I’ve been all kinds of busy doing things like building a MiniMT (pics coming) and working on restoring an old bike I’ve found (also, pics coming) and there’s been a dearth of updates around here because of it, and THAT IS OVER. I’ve got all of this motivation burning up inside and it’s coming out (not literally).
I’ve also been working on installing Leopard on my home server, and it’s been going… slowly. Hopefully I can get something working by the end of the day, otherwise, I’m leaving it Ubuntu (maybe a dual boot with XP). Hopefully the hassle of having a Hackintosh is worth it, outside of the obvious nerd factor. More to come on this front later.

TWOFER TUESDAY

Last night I saw the absolutely fantastic Cut/Copy live at the Paradise Rock Club here in Boston. Needless to say, I was completely blown away. They played all of the tracks I wanted to hear: Lights & Music, Hearts on Fire, Out There On The Ice, and an encore of Far Away.
The openers were Black Kids and Mobius Band, although I missed out on seeing Mobius Band due to some… business I had to take care of with the girlfriend. Black Kids were a lot of fun and had really good energy and I really enjoyed their set, but the show didn’t get going until Cut/Copy took the stage.
As soon as they came on, they had the whole crowd wrapped around their fingers, getting even the most self-obsessed hipster trash to jump and move. I honestly haven’t danced that hard since I saw Justice at the same venue.
In honor of the fabulous show Cut/Copy put on, I’d like to take this time to post a twofer of a fresh Cut/Copy remix by the amazing Midnight Juggernauts, and a tasty remix from The Twelves of Black Kids first single that’s been making the blog rounds recently.

I’m currently in the middle of upgrading the site to WordPress 2.5.1 and updating the look and feel of the site. Hopefully after this is all done, things should be looking good and working smoothly.
In actual site-related news, I’m working on porting some old software that I’d written in Java, with the massively useful Java Power Tools written by my professor and advisor Richard Rasala, to Adobe FLEX. I’ve been playing around with Flex for a couple of weeks now, and I think I have enough of a hang of it to actually try to make something useful, so we’ll see how it goes. I plan on posting details here as the project goes on, and I should have a useable demo up in the next couple of days.
